My course teaches students to build better relationships, basic sewing skills, and basic cooking skills. I am requesting a stainless steel table which will allow my students to have a kitchen-like environment in our classroom. The stainless steel table is a sanitary place to prepare foods verses the wooden tables that are in the classroom currently. Also, the tables will make it easier on all three teachers when trying to teach cooking/food preparation lessons. Our school has only one cooking lab which is currently being used as a classroom. The table will also allow me to teach skills that help build workforce skills employers are looking for so these students can get jobs that may supplement the income of their households. In turn, the students will have higher self-esteem and a sense of independence after they have learned the various skills taught during a cooking lab activity.
