When working to closing achievement gaps with students, you have to address their deficits and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Creating a classroom library with a variety of books on different reading levels will help do just that. My goal is to support each student and help them become confident independent readers, by providing them with a variety of books that are on their reading level. The level reading material will expose my students to a variety of genres as well as fiction and non-fiction text. This will support their overall achievement and build self confidence.
