My class this year is extremely diverse. It consists of English Language Learners who speak very little English and are in the beginning stages of learning to read, students who have Individualized Learning Plans, students who are on grade level, and students who are performing above grade level receiving Gifted services. By providing books on various levels and topics, my students will be able to read books that they not only enjoy, but also books that that will support their individual literacy needs. Due to the various different reading levels, differentiation is a must in my classroom. My students will be able to select from a variety of high interest books that they will be able to read independently. My goal is to create a classroom library that offers a variety of choices for all of my students.
