The above mentor texts will help my students in both their reading and writing. During reading/writing workshop, I use mentor texts to engage my students. The above texts also focus on diversity and social-emotional lessons. I am hoping that we will be able to gather again this Fall on the carpet. Having these books will help me engage my students in our workshop time. Texts with themes that students are able to connect to lead to great discussions! Literature is a great way to not only grow readers and writers, but also grow responsible and caring students.
