Communication is key. My students have to work a little extra to make sure they are heard and understood. Being able to give them that opportunity by using voice output devices and communication apps makes all the difference in the world. Every child has a voice that needs to be heard. Everyone needs to be able to communicate in some way to express their feelings, thought and just everyday needs. Being able to greet peers and adults and engaging in a small conversation. Being able to actively participate in all lessons. By being able to assess and give the students the options available to them to see what is the best fit for them is priceless. Being able to give a non-verbal child the voice they have and be heard is everything!
