It is my goal to provide my students with a learning environment that is safe, organized, stress free and conducive to learning. The stack stools and reading pillows will create a more inviting environment for my students and will assist them with focusing and taking control of their learning. Flexible seating is a way of letting the children feel more relaxed than sitting in a normal desk chair or having to sit on a cold floor to do activities. In my classroom I have daily rotations of different workstations; and unfortunately I don't have enough seating for the children during these rotations causing them to sit on the bare floors. “When teachers use strategies to reduce stress and build a positive emotional environment, students gain emotional resilience and learn more efficiently and at higher levels of cognition." Judy Willis My students will feel more energetic about going to the different reading stations and doing their day to day activities.
