My elementary school is a rural title one school meaning most of students come from poverty stricken families. Our school is made of 600 or more children from ages 4-7. We are a pre-k through first grade school so we are teaching the foundation building blocks of literacy and math. Many of our students have never left our town and may never have the opportunity to either. When introducing the simplest topics such as roosters or golf many are very unfamiliar with such concepts. Giving them more technology opportunities will broaden their vocabulary and life experiences in general. We look forward to exploring what the world has to offer outside of our four walls!
