Having class sets of Milkweed will help my students better understand the lives of children their own age during WW II through literature. We will use this novel to teach about the history of the Holocaust while encouraging them to read more than just what’s in our textbooks. This book is part of a novel study that will help our students not only learn about the past but use it to identify different learning standards for their grade level. Having students use a novel such as this one allows them to explore history and literature and how literature can shape our understanding of our world today.

About my class
