Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. They are able to choose a "smart" spot that helps them do their best work. Students are more likely to be engaged when they are comfortable, and students love choosing where they get to work! When my students get to choose their working spot, they take ownership and pride of their work. The seating choices I have requested are all new to my students, and they will use them to focus. The wobble stools will allow students to slightly move as they work. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. The portable desk will allow students to choose a spot free from distractions and allow them to sit on the floor. The rug will allow students to have a comfy spot to work either independently or collaboratively.The whiteboard table will be used so students can sit and work without having to manage multiple supplies! I hope these additional seating choices will continue to make our classroom my students' favorite place to be!
