If my project is funded, students will be granted greater access to more up-to-date articles. Students will also learn more about text features while reading informational text. Using Storyworks Jr. will help me customize instruction for every student, regardless of their reading level. I will have a range of engaging texts in a variety of genres that I need to teach. Storyworks Jr. will give me a wider range of activities and formative assessments that will boost skills and comprehension. This project will allow students to have access to educational online resources, including video and audio of each version's main stories. Students will also be able to learn about and read more up-to-date informational text, which they don't have access to when using the state's adopted curriculum. If this project is fully funded, students will have stories at different levels, access to video read-alouds, audio versions of the articles, and scaffolded activities to go along with the readings.
