Every student deserves to find a book that seems it was written just for them — from the top student enrolled in AP Literature, to the struggling sophomore who reads below grade level. When a library is stocked with diverse and multicultural texts, research shows that students who are apathetic about reading are much more likely to be drawn in. When students become independent readers, they will become better writers, expand vocabulary, find empathy, become more world-aware, and raise test scores. Not only will becoming readers help students become better English students, but they will be more likely to succeed in their other classes, too! My goal is for all of my students to find a love for reading. Help me help my students become lifelong learners!
