Orff Schulwerk, a German composer, created a process of learning for elementary age children that is completely hands on. His method naturally includes scaffolding and gives teachers the opportunity to easily differentiate; therefore, it is becoming increasingly more popular with music educators around the world. Also, students become authentically engaged with what is happening in the classroom. Having a classroom set of drums will allow every student to participate in the creative process of learning while increasing student engagement. The main part of the Orff Schulwerk method is the instruments! Students love this process of learning and they absolutely love getting their hands on an instrument!
