My students have very little outside knowledge and experiences other than of Deltona, Florida. Many of the text features that are used in Time For Kids are concepts that are taught in third grade. This would help bridge the gaps of knowledge that these students are lacking. By learning about the world around them they will have more experiences to write about and be able to share with their peers. My students need engaging material that helps them practice reading skills that are found in the Time for Kids Magazines. I feel that students having this resource would be invaluable to their growth as a reader!
