The materials will help my students to read better. Non-fiction texts help students to do well on many standardized tests and in college. It helps students with their writing as well. Non-fiction texts have been lacking in the school district that my students attend. The books are very old or either non-existent as a full set which is a disadvantage to my students.
The non-fiction texts will be used daily in class as a reinforcement to writing. The students will read the text and be given a prompt to respond to that will be graded. The prompt will be formulated as that of our Mississippi state test. This ensures that our students are in compliance when it comes to writing.
The computer will be used to project visuals on the screen which aid in writing. It will also be used to display the writing prompts and to show the students how they can also write through other venues such as Edmodo, and Google classroom. Getting these resources will help my students excel in ways I have never thought possible.
