Guided instruction, songs, joyful noises, instructional videos, and more can be heard coming from the Chromebooks in the technology center in my 5th grade math class. A classroom set of headphones will enhance my students' learning experiences in math class as they interact with several programs on our Chromebooks. Students visit the technology station for 30 minutes daily during math class. Other times, students come into the classroom before school to work on a variety of math programs. All of the interactive math programs that we use can get pretty noisy. Without headphones students have to turn the sound down so that they do not disturb fellow classmates in the technology center and in other areas of the room. When students cannot hear guided instruction, math songs, instructional videos, etc., learning is not meaningful. If every student had their own set of headphones, time spent on math programs in the technology center will be more meaningful thus enhancing student learning.
