As an English teacher, I want my students to enjoy reading. Most students, even the ones who claim to hate reading, enjoy "The Lightning Thief." It is important to have highly engaging novels available to the students so they will come to class excited to read that day. As my students read this book they will learn about mythology, which is part of the 6th grade Social Studies curriculum. Students will study the different myths about the different gods and goddesses as they show up in the novel. They will also learn about the Hero's journey as the follow Percy's story.

About my class
