The use of students planners in my fifth grade classes will help students improve organization, track achievements, enhance student responsibility, and promote communication. I can assist students by using their student planner as an “exit ticket.” Their planners will be reviewed by me before exiting the class, to ensure that they have not missed any vital information. My students will be provided with an easy, creative, and intriguing method of taking note of their commitments and deadlines. The use of student planners will also be used to train students to track their achievements. This will aid in building momentum in working harder to complete goals set. The student planners will also provide an excellent line of communication between students,parents, and myself. This will give my parents and I another means of communication especially in incidents where access to any devices may be unavailable. The student planners will also increase the student’s accountability to the commitments planned as well as provides them with a structure that contributes to their success. My students will be provided with the organizational skills needed to not only be successful elementary students but as life-long learners. We are planning for our future!
