Our District's forest parcels, located in our village, are used daily by our students and community during and outside of school hours through the year. I'm a full-time science teacher at our middle school and also the District Forest Coordinator for our three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. With our Forest Education Plan officially approved by both the state of Wisconsin and our School Board last December, our Forest Committee is seeking funding to create Forest Kits for our District students to use with our official lessons in the Education Plan. Our Forest Education Kits will be used by all our 4K-12 students. Teachers will "check out" these shared kits for lessons outlined in our official Wisconsin School Forest Education Plan. We are requesting bug boxes, hand lenses, binoculars and clipboards to help students explore and learn about their environment more independently.
