In my classroom, I have a wide range of grades, reading levels, and needs. I have some students who are working on identifying letters and others working on reading 2nd grade books. I also have some students with high sensory needs and short attention spans. In order to meet all of these needs, I use centers during reading instruction. Currently, we have four in two groups between my aide and myself. If we were able to have iPads in the classroom, we could have three centers where all of the students are engaged and accessing lessons at their level. We have access to online curriculum where the students can login and read books that are at the correct instructional level for them. This would also allow for smaller groups and therefore, more targeted instruction.
