I consider myself extremely lucky to be a teacher at Bijou Community School! Bijou is a multicultural school in Lake Tahoe, California. I teach all subjects in 5th grade. I have 21 diverse students with a wide range of interests and academic abilities. Our classroom is a special community where we celebrate and appreciate our differences. The majority of my students are English Learners and are classified as low income. My students are eager to learn and the academic standards are high in our classroom as we prepare for the transition to middle school. Their successes and light bulb moments are just some of the reasons why I love my job. My students are kind, talented, and future world changers!
