I have partnered with our district Occupational Therapist to create a sensory room for our kiddos. A sensory room is a place for the students that combines a range of stimuli to help them develop and engage their senses. This room will incorporate a variety of lights, colors, sounds, sensory soft play objects and aromas to create a safe environment that allows the students to explore and interact without risk. Sensory rooms can help those who have learning difficulties, developmental disabilities or sensory impairments learn to interact with the world around them! With the requested items such as tactile sensory ball, weighted animal, resistance tunnel, trampoline, wobble seats, cozy canoe the students will enhance learning and play, improve balance, movement and spatial orientation as well as tackle problems with behavior!
