These materials will be used by my students daily. Some materials are general teaching/student supplies we need and others are for starting book clubs. The whiteboards will help them practice their skills and help me assess their progress throughout the year. It’s much more interactive then asking for hands and it gets even the shy students to participate. I use handouts regularly that will last longer for students when they are laminated. I love setting up stations for students to work around at their own pace and having laminated instructions will allow me to use them year after year. And I’ve selected high interest books to accompany our core novels and get my students engaged in book clubs. Students will choose their top choices of books and be placed into small groups based on their choices. They will meet with their group twice a week to read, discuss and then create a podcast around the past reading. With six book choices this will be a year long process for my 8th graders.
