A class set of the book Wonder will make a difference in student learning by exposing them to rich literature that is current and relevant in today's social climate of diversity and acceptance. The theme of compassion resonates throughout the story. Equally as important, this book provides students with ample opportunities to think critically about characters and analyze their actions and motives. This engaging book will help students to determine what the text says explicitly and identify inferential information with evidence to back it up. Wonder will truly be a gift that my students will be able to open again and again all year long in order to revisit academic skills and to remind them to always choose kind.
