Our classroom has been modified over the last year to accommodate student projects and Project Based Learning in the Social Studies classroom. We work on different collaborative projects throughout the school year. This year we are creating a flexible seating arrangement in the classroom. We currently have two table stations for the students to work on. We also have 10 gaming rockers that have been purchased with classroom funds. We have countertops mounted to the walls for students to stand and work collaboratively. We now need 10 bar stools and 5 lamps to complete the setup for this 21st-Century STEAM US History classroom. The students need a flexible seating classroom so they can spread out around the classroom to complete their mastery projects on US History from the Civil War to present day. Students will build a working civil war cannon and a telegraph. They will record radio shows, podcasts, and build virtual and physical models. This experience will make History come alive for these students.
