The 21st Century Skills: Collaboration, Communication, Critical-Thinking and Creativity. Skills needed for students to compete in the global economy. Skills that need to be taught, modeled and demonstrated in the classroom. The skills every student needs to practice to be successful, yet we continue to have students sit at tables in plastic chairs. Kids need to move, create their own groups and be able to take ownership of their learning. How can they do this without the proper support of the classroom environment and furniture? I am asking for flexible seating, wobble chairs to help those who need a little movement all day long, and portable work surfaces so kids can work where they choose to sit.
