I am first grade teacher at a large Title I school, which means majority of our students qualify for free or reduced price lunch. We pride ourselves on embracing the diversity in our school community. Our school has over 40 languages represented and in my class alone I have eight different languages spoken by my students and their families. Some of my students are at the beginning stages of learning English while others are fluent in two or more languages. Despite our differences we have created a caring first grade family where we value individuality, pursue passion, practice perseverance, and are advocates for learning. The number one rule in our classroom is to show kindness and my students have taken this job very seriously by showing kindness in a number of ways. Our community of students and families at Eastridge are very inspiring and I am lucky to work at a school with so much personality.
