My students often struggle with managing their anger and other intense emotions. Learning to drum will help my students find positive ways to cope. I am teaching my students how to cope with their negative emotions. These emotions sometimes result in students choosing unsafe behavior and/or causing harm to others. As a way to teach my students new coping skills and positive anger management, I want to teach them to drum. Focusing on rhythm while also engaging in physical activity will help my students learn to control their anger while also learning how to create music, work as a group and engage in positive coping skills; which is why I'm requesting 13 Djembe drums and a drum keys package.
