Rug time is such a huge part of Kindergarten. A lot of my students have very difficult home lives and school seems to be their safe zone. When we come together on the rug, we can become a family. We learn to communicate with one another in respectful and encouraging ways. Rug time also allows a family like environment that allows students to feel loved and appreciated. Right now we have an old rug with sticky tape on it. I would love to be able to surprise my students with a beautiful place for us to work together and build each other up all while becoming readers and thinkers prepared for the future ahead of us.

About my class
