These seat choices will make a tremendous difference in my classroom. Flexible seating allows for students to take charge of their own learning and find the seat that works the best for them. Flexible seating will also give my students a chance to get their wiggles out; this will result in higher engagement and less redirection. Flexible seating will also help students develop social emotional skills of learning to share, respect property, and being a companion to others. I have seen first hand students give up a seat choice to another student because they know that is the best choice for that student and something else works for them. That is the best lesson as a teacher.
