The areas my students struggle most with are reading comprehension and writing. Creating this library in my classroom with allow the students to practice independent reading. This will allow my special education students to not only build confidence in their reading abilities, but also enhance their reading comprehension level. We will also be using these books to read together as a class and practice writing inferencing responses and summaries. Many of these students are reading well below grade level and have a negative attitude about school because they are unable to do some of the work, and I want to use this class library to show them that they can improve their reading and do well in school.
