At this time, our music inventory lacks enough instruments for each student to have one to use. Therefore, we have to take turns in order for them to learn the day's objective or standard. The instruments that I am requesting allows me to teach all grade levels how to read music and/or rhythms. They would be able to read basic notation and basic rhythms and would be better prepared for middle school music instruction. If each student could have their own instrument to play, the time lost in moving students around so that everyone could have a turn to play would be greatly reduced. Some students may get off task while waiting their turn, so I am also having to come up with some creative ways to keep them on task. All grade levels use these Orff instruments, so this would greatly impact our school!
