The students at East End are located on the East Side of Houston, Tx. They are a diverse group with passions ranging from soccer, to being involved in after school clubs. The student population is 98% Hispanic and 78% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. They have consistently out performed predicted STAAR scores, and even the STAAR average for the state of Texas. Our students Lead + Connect= Achieve. In my classroom, students receive differentiated and cultural responsive lessons on a daily basis. My students come in every day for two hours to learn Algebra I so they can receive credit and pass their EOC exam. I have the hardest working students that are willing to perform at such high college levels because they have big Goals set for themselves and their families. I enjoy working with the Latino/a population in East End because my students are kind, humble, and dedicated.
