I would like to attend the Plain Talk About Literacy and Learning conference in January, 2020. With this funding I will be able to participate in conversation with some top literacy researchers and learn current findings on literacy teaching and supporting students with reading difficulties. It is important to me to remain current in best practice literacy instruction, and to help classroom teachers develop and utilize research-based practices for teaching reading. I will be able to use this knowledge in my own practice and as I support other educators in my role as a literacy leader. With the opportunity to impact nearly 500 students each school year, it is critical for me to remain knowledgeable about the most current research findings so that I can promote the best possible practices for all students.
