My students need 4 iPads because they are visual and auditory learners that could benefit from the over 2,000 preschool apps that are available to teach literacy, math and writing. My students will benefit from having iPads during center/exploration time. This is the time when students have free choice about what they would like to explore. Students will learn literacy, math, and writing using the amazing apps that are available on the iPad. Students need the technology because they are mostly visual and auditory learners. I have found apps that allow them to learn letter sounds and practice how to write the letters and they learn how to count using the awesome math apps.
Right now I only have 1 iPad and my students are constantly trying to get on to have a turn. There may be six students at a time trying to see and they get frustrated. If I was able to have more iPads, this will allow them an opportunity to rotate and take turns. I would allow a set amount of time so that all students will be able to have a chance. I will also differentiate their learning so that I am meeting students at their instructional level.
