Scholastic News will help keep students excited about reading nonfiction articles as well as keep them up to date with current events. These articles are standards-based and high interest. This promotes students growth in literacy because students who are interested, are motivated. Students who are connected to the world become enlightened, tolerant citizens for the future! This allows students to develop conceptual thinking so that they understand the bigger picture of themselves within their environment. Knowing what Scholastic Magazine provides I know my students will be highly motivated to use this tool to expand their skills while expanding their knowledge about the world.
