With a classroom full of many different faces, I often find I am reading stories about kids who all look the same. I want to be able to share meaningful texts with my students who are able to literally and figuratively see themselves in these books! Many of my kids were born in other countries and have cultures that look different from mine. I want to be able to show them that their story is always so important! This will help foster a love of reading and learning about other cultures which will lead to a group of empathetic learners.
