I am requesting these items to help create a listening center in the classroom. A listening center is a huge benefit to children, especially when they are still in the beginning stages of learning to read. Not only is listening to a story be told fun for the children, it's beneficial because it teaches them necessary listening skills. Hearing words (without interruption) and how they are pronounced is a key element in reading fluency and comprehension. As of now, my classroom has zero audio books or the means to play them. It would be an amazing start to the year to have everything we need to get them started!
