My students are diverse learners, though many of us share the same cultural background. They come from different homes, where they've experienced different learning opportunities. They are hopeful, that I can offer them the chance to learn and grow on a level playing field. These students attend a title 1 school on the border between Texas and Mexico, and they have the same dreams and aspirations as students from affluent districts. Some students that come to our school do not have permanent addresses, and may be considered homeless. My students depend on my colleagues and I to help them get to where they want to go. They provide the determination, and the brilliance; I provide the guidance, knowledge, and often times, the tools.
