In many ways, our world seems much smaller than it used to. But without an opportunity to learn about other parts of the world, we are left with only a partial picture. A subscription to Scholastic News will bring a year's worth of quality, interesting reading to my second graders. The current event topics that they will learn about will be valuable as they start their journey as young citizens. Reading about real people and real events will make the world more real to them! Learning about interesting topics in a relevant way will bring learning into focus for my students.
