Our students range from Pre-K through 8th grade. At this age, students are easily influenced by everyday situations. Our students come from many different backgrounds and face many different hardships in their own lives outside of school. We need books for classroom lessons pertaining to social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Our titles include Lily's Purple Plastic Purse, But It's Not My Fault, Chrysanthemum, Trouble Talk, A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue and many more. These books will allow me to introduce effective ways to positively cope with the situations and feelings we face on a day-to-day basis: peer pressure, anger, sadness, broken homes, confusion, happiness, study skills, grief, divorce, problem solving and much more. By obtaining these books I will be able to expand my counseling curriculum and ultimately teach my students through the life of reading.
