Reading is a skill that students will use their entire life . Most students read because they have to. I would like to have a classrooms full of students that want to read! They key to building reading skills is to first help students establish a love for reading! Students will not fall in love with reading if they do not first experience success in that area. All students do not enter my classroom reading at grade level. Some are above grade level expectations while others are reading below grade level. I would like to be able to provide books of interest to all students that meet them at their current reading level. I feel this will encourage students to grow as readers.
