This is going to help my students' learning because during writing mini lessons, we will have a meeting area in our classroom so that students may be in close proximity to me, and away from other distractions. For writing lessons, students will meet me on the rug to observe my writing, and learn the skills of good writing such as stating evidence, a claim and elaborating on your reasons. The purpose of the meeting area is to have students focus on the day's writing lesson so that their writing skills can become stronger as independent writers. The goal is makes students independent writers so that they have the ability to so in situations such as state standardized tests or any college or career prep tests.
