I love seeing the excitement for learning in my student's eyes and I believe these supplies will continue to provide them all opportunities for success! I would like to provide all of my students the opportunity to have alternative Kore wobble seating, and offer 8 exciting STEM kits that promote spatial knowledge and critical thinking skills. My classroom is just 3 Kore wobble stools shy of a complete class set, and I would like ALL of my students to have alternative seating as an option. The Kore stools are designed to help students move and engage their core as they are sitting at their tables. These are excellent tools/chairs for younger students (my second graders) and students who have attention issues, as it helps them stay engaged in learning through movement while sitting at their desks. The STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) kits that I have picked for my classroom are, educationally based kits, that allow for students to build machines, work with circuit components, and design. I have chosen 8 different kits that will allow partners to explore and learn through various engineering blocks, gears, pegboards, geometric shapes and circuits. These kits are designed to help build social and spatial knowledge as well as encourage their critical thinking skills. I am eager to provide my students educationally based activities to move onto once their classwork is complete, and these 8 STEM kits are an excellent resource for my classroom. All of the items that I am hoping to have funded here through Donors Choose are also going to be able to be used for several years in my classroom.
