The materials purchased on Teachers Pay Teachers and the beginning reader materials funded through this project will be used daily in our classroom. I spent so much last year purchasing WONDERFULLY created lessons on Teachers Pay Teachers. These purchases proved to help my students learn. As a self-contained special education teacher, it is my responsibility to adapt and modify in order to ensure all students in my classroom learn. Unfortunately, curriculum options specific to the self-contained setting are no where near what they should be; therefore, I am constantly purchasing and creating materials in order for my students to learn academic and life-skills. Through my persistence with creating and purchasing last year felt like one of my most successful years as a self-contained teacher. So many of my students showed growth! Non-verbal students became readers! Students with emotional challenges were provided with coping stories and activities to help overcome daily struggles. These materials will certainly help my students become successful academically, as well as socially and emotionally.
