Having a subscription to Time for Kids will allow my students to have exposure to current events on their level. Many of my students are not exposed to anything outside of their neighborhood so they lack the prior knowledge needed to read and understand abstract concepts. I will be able to use these magazines in my classroom to expand their mind past their neighborhood, into the real world. This will allow them the chance to see and understand that the world is a big place with so much to see and experience. I hope to expose them to something that lights a fire in them to one day get out and explore so that they can have a first-hand experience.

About my class
