These materials will be used to allow the students to move freely about the classroom and learn in an environment that is more like a "Home." I want them to be able to relax and learn without the stress of a hard desk. I want my students to have a learning environment that is comfortable. I want them to be able to express themselves through literacy and writing. From my own experience, when I'm relaxed and comfortable I am able to relax and disappear into a book and melt away into new adventures. I am the same way when writing, and I want my students to experience the same feeling. The book bins will be a good way to separate different genres of books, so the students can go directly to what they would like to read. The lap desks are great when we do group work. We sometimes end up on the floor (for comfort). These would allow the students to have a comfortable place to write on. The wobble chairs are for those moments when they just want to sit and get away from everything while reading a good book. The shelving unit will help us to organize books novels that we are reading along with any supplies to aid in their learning.
