My class is comprised of 12 students, all with different disabilities. The materials I am requesting are to help my students with coping mechanisms. My students can only be in a certain area for a limited amount of time. They require constant breaks with movement and exercise. The materials in my project will allow me to set up my classroom and make it effective and give my students a break area to go to where they will be able to refocus and come back and join their other classmates. The assistive tools are all means of stimulation and assistance with their sensory issues thus allowing them to progress. The play mat will provide support and protection from the hard floor in the "Chill Out Zone". The bean bag and pillows will allow students to relax and rest their bodies when they need a break.
