I strive to find ways that art can connect to their lives outside of the classroom. Making those connections helps new information stick. Today, technology is an essential part of their everyday lives at home and I want to bring more it into the art studio. Equipping the art classroom with new technology will show students that technology is relevant both in the home and in the art making process. iPads can enhance an existing artwork or can be used to create a new artwork. Paper circuitry will light up artworks and look great with the lights on and off-great way to use the 5 senses. A Makey Makey will turn a student's sculpture into an interactive piece of art by adding an audible component. Using all the senses helps retain and remember information.
