The objective of this course is to introduce students to the skills and knowledge required to understand forensic science. This class and after school club focuses on Forensic Anthropology and Crime Scene Investigation in order to solve a simulated crime scene and produce an end of the year mock trial based on a historical event. Students learn to analyze crime scenes, bone fragments, recreate body retrieval and processing evidence in order to solve the crime scene and create evidence for the Mock Trial at the end of the year. Students also learn about the process of the United States court system as well as participate in Peer Court. This program allows students to interact first hand with crime scene procedures which facilitates in-depth inquiry, analysis and 21st century competencies for students in college, career and civic life.
