I do not want to have to give boring worksheets for morning work this year. The start of the day dictates the attitude for the remainder of the day. I want the students to start their day doing somethin they are excited about and look forward to!
These supplies will be the perfect materials and manipulatives I will need to make the awesome morning tubs I would love to have for my students! Some of these manipulatives include letter cubes to build words, math manipulatives that can be used to build different things and give the students the opportunity to get comfortable using them, and different puzzles and hands-on materials that practice other skills that will be taught throughout the school year. I choose these specific materials and manipulatives because they can all be used for multiple purposes. The different types of blocks and molding foam can be used to give the students the opportunity to show their creativity by building their own masterpieces. My students love to create and build their own creations, and I think having a variety of tools that will allow them to do this would be awesome. The shape blocks can be used to build things, but also to get them familiar with the different types of shapes that they will be learning about at the end of the year during the geometry unit in math. The foam dominoes will be used as a math manipulative to practice working with different patterns, as well as practicing addition and subtraction. I choose these resources for my morning tubs because they can all be used in multiple ways. The possibilities could be endless!
